Laboratory of Electrophysiologal, Hemodynamical and Ultrasound Methods of Study and X-ray Operation Room
Chief - Boris B. KRAVCHUK, M.D., Ph.D., cardiac surgeon of higher qualifying category.
In 1996 he graduated Lviv Medical University.
He works in the Institute since 1998.
He was studied in international School of Surgery (Italy) in 2000-2001 and obtained Master's Diploma in Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology.
He was trained in leading clinics of Italy, Germany, Czech Republic.
In 2007 he successfully passed European Certificate Examination
(EHRA exam - Special competency in cardiac pacing, implanting cardioverter-deffibrilators and cardiac resynchronization therapy)
of European Society of Arrhythmologists.
Since 2012 is a certified specialist of
European Society Arrhythmologists
.
Main directions of scientific activity - resyncronizing therapy of heart failure and of heart rhythm disturbances
by the way of multichambers pacing.
He is the co-author of one monorgaph, 9 patents for inventions and 72 publications in the specialized periodicals.
The laboratory is equipped with a digital angiographic unit,
with combined electrophysiological-hemodynamical registrator,
with navigation system of 3-D electroanatomical heart mapping
and with echocardiographic units for transthorasic, transesophageal and intracoronary diagnostics.
Main directions of the laboratory work :
- invasive electrophysiological examination with the three-dimensional electro-anatomical mapping EnSiteVelosity;
- catheter radiofrequency ablation of supraventricular substrate
(WPW syndrome, nodal tachycardia, ectopic atrial tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, etc.)
and ventricular arrhythmias under conditions of navigation system of three-dimensional electro-anatomical mapping EnSiteVelosity;
- united cross-sectional catheter treatment of arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease and congenital heart disease;
- complex-invasive electrophysiological hemodynamic study of patients with cardiomyopathy;
- implantation of resyncronizing multichambers artificial cardiac pacemakers for the treatment of congestive heart failure;
- implantation of artificial cardiac pacemakers for the treatment of bradyarrhythmias;
- implantation of cardioverter-defibrillators for the treatment of life-threatening arrhythmias;
- coronary ventriculography with hemodynamic examination;
- balloon dilatation and stenting of the coronary arteries.
